Elementary Teacher Jobs in Maryland

An Elementary Teacher plays a significant role in the elementary education sector by providing basic education to children typically aged between 5 and 12 years. They create lesson plans, teach students in various subjects such as Math, Reading, Science, Social Studies, and more. Elementary Teachers are responsible for assessing students' abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, tracking their progress, and nurturing their academic and social development. They often coordinate with parents, school administration, and other teachers to ensure a supportive learning environment for the students.

For this role, a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education is required, and most states require Elementary Teachers to also hold a state-issued certification or license. Familiarity with different teaching strategies and methods as well as a solid understanding of child psychological development are also crucial.
