Golestan isn’t just a job, it’s a way of life! It is a kind, loving, and respectful environment with the mission to help children become well-informed, compassionate, and multilingual citizens with integrity and a firm cultural foundation. Education, be it linguistic, intellectual, social, or cultural, is a necessary part of helping children become this type of citizen.
The mission of the organization is multifold. Golestan strives to cultivate young people with knowledge of and respect for their heritage language and culture to foster their development as active members of a diverse multicultural community. Equally critical is the goal to encourage student development of reasoning and creative abilities through a dynamic and progressive program that draws from a diverse set of educational philosophies.
The school serves as a model and resource for other communities (of all backgrounds), so that they may have the opportunity to create an enriching and idyllic school in their very own community. Teachers get to share their best practices with educators across the world and learn from them in return.
Golestan is expanding it's existing preschool into a multilingual primary school. We are moving to a large site which will with a working farm, complex chemistry in cooking class, abstract math in the maker’s lab, and hands-on messy science, feels more like a beautiful home than an institution. It is a place that smells like baked bread, tastes like fresh greens, and sounds like the United Nations.
